    Vintage AFRICAN TRADE bead GARNET handmade wrapped .925 SS drop earrings
    Purchased these beads over 20 years ago, and they were very old then...Decided to part with a couple.  Not sure what type of metal this is but simply adore the natural patina, which I've left as is after washing thoroughly and gently buffing with a soft cloth.  Each bead is unique and they measure 8x10mm.  An 8x10mm hand cut rich wine red garnet teardrop briolette below the trade bead with glittering tiny 2mm hematite facet.  These tiny beads sparkle exactly like marcasite...love them.  topped with and oval hammered ring sporting a lighter shade 3mm faceted garnet rondell with tiny hematite dangle. Oxidized sterling silver, which I've polished to perfection.  Total length, including the french hook ear wire is 1-1/2".  All solid sterling silver wire and findings.  Very lightweight.
