    Description

Offered for sale extremely large wooden handle, brass, heavy magnifying glass 11.25". Condition is As Is. It has broken glass, needs replacement. This magnifier is extremely heavy 1lb and 10oz. that almost is not for use regarding weight. It is a strong, big, heavy object, excellent cabinet, library, shelf, desk decor. Sorry glass is broken, glass stands in its frame, not falling off, it is just cracked. I bought this magnifier about  20 years ago in this condition. I love it because of the large image. Since it is so big and I did not have chance to repair it until now, I decided to sell it, possibly someone can repair and have it in original condition. Possibly some collector will like it for collection/display because of enormous size and weight. I believe that it is newer production, made during 80's, I am not sure, but I can tell that it is slightly used. Handle is wooden, strong, it has two major scratches( not crack), otherwise is fine. Strong brass frame that holds glass is 5" diameter by almost 1". Wooden handle is 4" long by 2" ( widest part). I hope that from my pictures you are able to see how it is big and strong. You can use it , but it is not practical for often use. On the top of the handle there is a brass screw, I believe that you have to open this part for replacement of glass. I am not sure, but if you buy 5" glass, possibly you can do it on its own or pay some skillful person. It is kind of unique decorative magnifying glass. Upon replacement, which I believe is possible, it will be fantastic library, cabinet decor. Feel free to ask any additional question.
