Large Antique French 950 Sterling Silver Pierced Basket Dish Tray Vintage Fruit

A lovely basket.
This antique basket is French made and crafted from solid 950/1000 silver, slightly higher silver content than sterling silver. The basket  measures 10 7/8 inches by 8 1/8 inches and stands 2 1/8 inches tall. It is clearly hallmarked twice with the French Minerva Head and "1" denoting 950/1000 silver, as well as a partial and illegible makers mark. It weighs an impressive 395.3 grams. There is extensive pitting to the silver which was most likely caused by prolonged exposure to salt. Your local jeweler or silversmith can professionally polished and remove the pitting. The pitting is incorporated into the price of this piece.
