    Description

Prohibition Era Flask Leather & Glass with Silver--James Dixon & Sons 1921-1930. Condition is "Used". Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
Selling my beautiful James Dixon & Sons prohibition era flask with very nice original black leather over glass, with an electroplated silver cup that holds tight when not in use and pulls off when you need to share.  Based on the hallmarks and the Made in England stamp (which became necessary by law in 1921), this flask dates from 1921 to around 1930.  There is even a little bit of dried spirit left in the bottom, maybe some leftover hooch that was snuck into a speakeasy?
The top lid still functions perfectly-you twist to unlock and then lift the lid to pour your beverage. Overall condition is excellent for an item almost 100 years old, especially considering how leather breaks down over time.  The original cork is also still in the lid.  Look at other sellers on ebay as well, and you can see what it will look like polished.  (They are also asking quite a bit more for the same flask.) I have decided to leave the original patina, but both the cup on the bottom and the entire top mouthpiece can easily be polished to a bright silver shine.
